Memorial Day Weekend

On Saturday, we went to the Fun in the Sun festival in downtown St. Marys.  The girls had a great time on the bouncy houses and watching the Rotary Club duck race.  Our duck didn't win but we enjoyed the race anyway.  After spending a couple of hours downtown, it was time for our swim lessons.  This summer, the girls are taking private, one on one swim lessons.  They've each had two lessons and are already showing a lot of improvement!  I really want Mary Grace to be swimming with confidence by the end of the summer.
After church on Sunday, we hung the first of two fans that we bought for the front porch.  It turned into a rather big project so Stephen was just too pooped to do the second one after finishing the first.
We were able to get in a little over an hour at the pool this morning before the lightening started.  At least we got a raincheck and will get to go back again another day.
Here are some photos from the weekend.  The last one shows Mary Grace with her first "paycheck".  She picked up the mail for our neighbors all week and they paid her for her work.  I am so proud of how well she handled this task.  She remembered to get the mail everyday and found a special place in our house for it.  When the Blansetts returned from their vacation on Saturday, she took the mail over to their house.  It was a great opportunity for her to learn what a job is, why people have jobs, and what to do with her income.  She tithed in her Sunday school class and put the rest in her piggy bank.
