Elsie is 5!

This girl is 5 years old!  She's 40 inches tall and weighs 36 pounds.  That puts her in the 10 percentile for height and the 25th for weight.  She's still a pee wee!
Her best friends are her sister, Carter, Maddee, Clary and Stella.  Her favorite color is yellow.  Her favorite book is The Recess Queen.  She loves to play outside on her bike and her scooter or in her tree house. She also enjoys putting together Lego sets.  She received two Harry Potter sets for Christmas and will sit for more than an hour going through the books page by page to build the set.  Bunky and Blankie still accompany her on car rides and for naps and bedtime.
She's reading quite well.  She knows many sight words and is able to spell some words by sounding them out.  She absolutely loves being a Green Apple.  She takes ballet and tap and sings in the children's (Joyful Noise) choir at our church.  She's played three seasons of soccer but is taking this one off.  And she's really looking forward to being a big sister this summer.   She's still not that great of an eater.  She's more of a snacker but the doctor says not to worry about that, as long as she's eating healthfully.  She wants to be a doctor for kids and adults when she grows up.  Maybe she'll follow in Momo's footsteps!
No matter what life path she chooses, I'm sure that she will serve others in some way.  She truly has a servant's spirit.  She loves to help around the house and is always doing things for us and for her friends.
I went with her to Happy Apple for her birthday.  I stayed for morning assembly, where she got to hold the flag.  Then I went by SMES and picked Mary Grace up for a few minutes so that she could come to Happy Apple for cupcakes with Elsie's class.  After school, she and I took a much appreciated nap and then waited on the front porch for the bus to drop off Mary Grace.
Nana and Momo came in town that afternoon and after dance class, we enjoyed a supper of Papa Luigi's takeout.  We opened presents and had some more cupcakes.  Here are some photos of our day:
