We are enjoying having Nana in St. Marys again! We had planned to drive up to Oak Island for this long weekend but chickened out at the last minute because of the cold weather up there. Nana decided to drive down here to see us instead so she's been here since Sunday afternoon. She'll be heading back to Raleigh tomorrow. At least that's the plan. The weather is not looking so promising, though. The forecast is calling for snow in NC tonight and tomorrow.
Last night, Nana babysat while Stephen and I had a nice dinner out by ourselves. Today, Nana and I took the girls to Chick fil A for lunch. They love playing on the indoor playground there. Then we went shopping at some of the little stores around St. Marys. This afternoon, we went into Florida and took some of the girls clothes to Once Upon a Child to sell. Stephen went with us and we also stopped at Gander Mountain so he could get a quail hunting cap. Quail hunting seems to be his new favorite sport. Apparently, you have to wear a bright orange hat so you don't get shot in the head. Maybe this is where Dick Cheney's hunting buddy went wrong.
We had dinner at Ops tonight and are back home. Nana has marinated a pork tenderloin for us to cook for dinner tomorrow night. She's also done the dishes! Did I mention that we're enjoying having Nana to visit?!
What a loving mom! Sounds like a really nice visit. How'd you make out at Once Upon a Child? We've loved taking stuff there. We've gotten what we've felt like was a really fair amount of money in return for what we've taken to them. I think you need a picture of Stephen modeling that beautiful cap on your blog! :) How funny! Hope you have a good week.
ReplyDeleteStephen would be in heaven here. We have a quail nest in the palm tree right outside our window. I wouldn't mind having one of those bright orange hats and a gun to take care of my not so welcome neighbors! They make really annoying noises.
ReplyDeleteAnna, you are too funny!
ReplyDeleteNana had so much fun! It is such a privilege to be with Tara, Stephen, Mary Grace and Elsie. I can not think of anything any more special than this, other than if Doc Danks could have been with us!
ReplyDeleteLove,
Nana
